Vintage clothing is my drug, think I need rehab...

Being a broke college student and all (let alone, attending the most prestigious fashion school on the West Coast, FIDM), I've learned to shop on a budget; yet, staying true to my style.  Only con about it is, you HAVE to make the time for it.  So, my untapped resource is the Flea Market.  It's my addiction, searching through racks and racks of used one-of-a-kind pieces, and finding "the one".  I've come across vintage Prada, D&G, even Mr. Vuitton himself, sitting on an old wooden table.  So far I've purchased, a 1989 lamb skin leather jacket from Spain for $15 bucks! A pair of vintage (a fancy way of saying used) cowboy boots for $20 bucks...The trick to it is having the patience to dig and learning how to barter.  Pretanding to walk away and not seem interested (even if your shouting for joy on the inside) is the way to go.  Remember in that instance, YOU are in control!  Once you've found "the one", take it to a tailor.  It's very important to have a personal relationship with your tailor, not only will she make your new found treasure look amazing, but she'll also hook you up!  Once all is said and done, you'll look like a million dollahs (but not really)...

Places to visit in LA are, Melrose Flea Market, Rose Bowl flea market (only occurs once a month), Goodwill on Beverly, American Vintage, Chuck's Vintage Clothing, Yard Sales, Wasteland, etc...If you're not in the LA area, just google "flea market"...and it'll lead you to an array of vintage goodies!
